Sauna Basics
Taking a sauna is healthy and strengthens the body! Therefore, many people regularly visit a sauna. Through the alternation of hot-cold as well as circulation stimulation and relaxation, you can do something good for yourself holistically. Please note the following tips for the perfect vacation day in our Vital & Sauna:
- Bring enough time for your wellness stay - sauna should be relaxing.
- Do not go to the sauna hungry but also not with too full a stomach.
- Take a sauna according to your subjective well-being. We recommend a balanced ratio of sauna - cooling down - resting.
- You should not drink anything during the sauna bath, otherwise the detoxification effect will be largely absent. In your subsequent recovery phase, please drink enough fluids.
Our Paradise Guides will be happy to answer any questions you may have and provide you with further information on the correct way to take a sauna!

Sauna effects
proper detoxification
Sweating removes a lot of water from the body as it tries to cool itself through evaporation. However, the actual purification takes place via the urinary tract. Therefore, you should also drink only after the sauna session. The temperature in the sauna is not decisive for purification. The heat of the sauna also stimulates blood circulation and helps the body to eliminate toxins.
matters of the heart
Sauna visits are a good cardiovascular workout and are also beneficial for those with heart conditions (after consulting with a doctor). Sauna sessions can relieve heart patients' anxiety about high temperatures. Although the pulse rate increases during the heat phase, blood vessel resistance can actually decrease due to vasodilation. If you have a tendency to high blood pressure, regular sauna sessions can relieve the strain on your heart and blood vessels. Patients with high blood pressure should, however, avoid the immersion bath and cool down by showering.
enjoy infusion
In the Vital & Sauna, over 100 infusions and wellness activities are performed daily by our Paradise Guides. During an infusion, aromatized water is poured onto the stove stones. The steam produces a precipitate on the skin. It condenses on the cooler skin and makes the body sweat more. The intense heat stimulus can be further increased by interrupting the insulating layer of steam directly on the skin. This is done by waving a towel vigorously - the "slap".
the nose joins in
Olfactory stimuli are very closely linked to the emotional world in the olfactory brain. Essential oils in the infusion have a positive effect on the nervous system and psyche - the effect of sauna bathing is thus supported in the most pleasant way. Different scent compositions from invigorating to calming pamper the senses: oils from citrus plants brighten the mood and have an anti-stress effect. Oils from eucalyptus, pine and spruce needles have proven effective for respiratory complaints.
beautiful, firm skin
During sauna the skin is well supplied with blood, which makes it rosy and firm. Nutrients can be increasingly transported into the skin and waste products are better released. Skin renewal and metabolism are increased and promoted. The skin is very receptive during and after sauna. Special infusions such as the salt infusion (please only perform salt peelings 1x per week) or our masks are excellent for supplying it with valuable skin care substances.
strengthening the immune system
By taking a sauna, the body becomes accustomed to reacting very quickly to temperature differences. This also enables it to adapt better to changes in weather and temperature in everyday life. This is also one reason why people who regularly take saunas are significantly less likely to fall ill. Furthermore, the increase in core body temperature leads to overheating, which increases the activity of individual immune system components.
